Beach House Kitchen Repurpose - Miller Beach, Indiana
Project Type: Beach house repurposing of kitchen, and storage areas designed to serve the requirements of two gourmet chefs that dine in the space and entertain on their attached outdoor patio. Upgrade of purposeful lighting was a large part of this project.
Objective: Building Solution's concept was that of converting and modernizing the entire beach house kitchen and other parts of the lower level into an area that is flexible, serviceable, and truly multifunctional. The strict requirements laid out by the clients required both an updated look while meeting the needs for cooking equipment and tools as well as plentiful dry good storage that the previously did not have.
Scope of Work: The old kitchen was completely removed, with the exception of a unique red vintage-style refrigerator. The oversized walkway was converted to storage space for periodically used cooking equipment and dry goods. This allowed us to free up upper cabinet space and create open shelving per the owner's request.
Very appropriate task specific lighting was added.
Details: Custom color cabinets blended with the existing wood of the space to create a unique kitchen that provided the type of workspace required by two different chefs.
Building Solutions designed and incorporated a detailed plan that not only ensured interior cabinet inserts but also redo of the lighting with dimmers everywhere to maximize lighting options and customization.
